Nutella Banana Smoothie

Nutella Banana Smoothie

I am so honored and thrilled that today Mother Thyme is featured on Yummly as a Featured Food Blog.  If you haven’t seen it yet, check it out at HERE.

If you follow me on Twitter or Facebook I posted yesterday a picture of a smooth and creamy Nutella and Banana Smoothie.  It was so good and delicious I have to share the recipe with you.

You may also know from previous posts I love my smoothies.  They are filling and delicious I have one about every day.  Being a busy mom its simple to whip up a smoothie to enjoy in one hand  while I am feeding the kiddos in another.

I have shared before my Blueberry Banana Peanut Butter Smoothie which is delicious.  Since I am on a bit of a Nutella kick I switched up my usual smoothie and created this.  It reminds me more of almost a milkshake of sorts than a smoothie.  Super delicious!

If you have some Nutella hanging around in your pantry.  Add a few ingredients to your blender along with some Nutella and give this smoothie a try.  If you do, let me know what you think of it!

(p.s. If you are checking out the brownies in the pictures, those are Nutella Brownies too.  Check those out HERE).

  1. How did you know I was eying those decadent brownies???? The smoothie looks fantastic, but I live for brownies and new brownie recipes 🙂

  2. This looks great! But I have a general question for smoothie makers out there. My daughter’s allergic to bananas. What can I replace it with to still get the creaminess it provides? Even a partial reduction would help as she can have small amounts of banana. About 1/4 of a banana seems OK but I try to avoid them altogether rather than risk her getting a horrendous headache. She loves smoothies and Nutella and I’m sure this would be a hit with her if I can substitute the banana.
    Thanks for the help!

    1. You might try avocado. It’d provide that creaminess and nutrients, while the flavor is so subtle that she probably wouldn’t even notice.

  3. Hi Lana. Thanks for your question. I would suggest omitting the banana to prevent your daughter from getting any headaches and add in more yogurt. For this recipe I would suggest using 1 1/3 cup Vanilla Yogurt, 1/3 cup Nutella, 1 cup ice and blend well. You will get a delicious and creamy Nutella smoothie which I think she will enjoy! Let me know if you try it and how she likes it.

  4. Hi, I stumbled across your website look for something to feed my Nutella addiction and tried this smoothie. Love!! Perfect combination of banana and chocolate. Not too sweet or heavy. My boyfriend tried to steal it from me, but I fought him off and drank the whole thing:) I used greek vanilla yogurt which I think gave it a little extra creaminess and thickness. Thanks!

  5. Mmmm as I type this comment, I am drinking a Nutella+Banana smoothie and it is SO GOOD! 😀

  6. I also thought of this idea because I like to create Smoothies and happened to have nutella and I decided to make a banana and nytella smoothie also but I also added a hint of cinnamon.
