It is amazing on how someone you have never met, have never spoken to can impact your life.
As many of us know last week Jennifer Perrillo from In Jennie’s Kitchen suddenly lost her husband to a heart attack. When I heard of the news looking at Twitter my heart instantly sank. I felt such loss for her. I saw the video she posted of her husband and I began to cry. Even though I never met her or her family I felt such sadness.
It is in times like this that you take a moment and reflect on your own life. You realize that life is short and we need to sometimes slow down and enjoy the moment as we never know what the next minute, hour or day will bring.
I remember calling my husband shortly after reading her post For Mikey. I just wanted to tell my husband I love him. I looked at my beautiful twins and I pulled them close and just held them.
Sometimes we need to close the computer, shut off the phone and spend time with our loved ones before life just passes us by.
This past friday the wonderful world of food bloggers came together and baked pies in honor of Jennifer’s husband Mikey. Its incredible and amazing to see how people come together in times like this.
Sometimes we just need to bake a pie, sit with our loved ones and enjoy a slice.
I have had a busy last few days with prior commitments but this evening I finally got to make a delicious Peanut Butter Pie. I had to improvise a bit from her version. If you would like my recipe you can find it HERE.
My thoughts and prayers are with her and her family in this difficult time.
