THE BEST WHITE QUESO DIP

If you love white queso dip like you can get at Moe’s then wait until you try this easy, creamy White Queso Dip! It’s seriously the best White Queso Dip I’ve ever had! Not only is this dip amazing but it’s super easy too! It’s just simply white American cheese, heavy cream that makes this cheesy dip super creamy, a can of green chilies and some spices. That’s it! It’s super easy and tastes out of this world!

I hate claiming that a recipe is the best unless it really is and this White Queso Dip definitely deserves the title of The Best White Queso Dip! Once you dive into this tasty dip you’ll be hooked as well.

In this recipe I used white American cheese that you can get at the deli counter at your grocery store or I have even made it with white American cheese singles like Kraft. Honestly they both really work and will give you similar results but if you’re at the grocery store and can grab the white American cheese from the deli counter opt for that first. You can either get it sliced or just ask for one pound of unsliced white American cheese then just cut it into cubes before you toss it in the pot.

THE BEST WHITE QUESO DIP

THE BEST WHITE QUESO DIP

The secret to this delicious White Queso Dip is heavy cream. It really adds a thick creaminess to this dip. Try not to substitute the heavy cream if you can because it’s so worth it!

It only takes a few minutes to make this dip. Once you get all the ingredients in the pot just cook it over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the cheese has melted and creamy then season it with a pinch of salt and pepper.

I recommend keeping the queso warm in the pot on the stove or even transferring it to a small slow cooker like the Crock-Pot Little Dipper to stay warm because there’s nothing better than diving into a warm bowl of queso! If necessary you can pour it in a serving bowl just keep in mind that it will obviously not stay warm for long. It’s best to serve it in something that will allow it to stay warm or you will need to pop it in the microwave on occasion to keep it warm it up however this dip is so good depending on how many people you’re serving it to it might not even last that long!

  • 1 pound white American cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 can (4 ounce can diced green chilies (not drained))
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • Pinch of salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients except salt and pepper to a medium saucepan and cook over medium heat stirring occasionally until cheese is melted and dip is creamy.
  2. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Keep warm or pour into desired serving dish and serve warm immediately.

Notes

White American cheese from the deli counter is recommended but white American cheese singles like Kraft found in the refrigerated cheese section works just as well. Just unwrap each slice from the plastic wrap and follow the recipe. If you get the cheese from the deli counter you can purchase the slices or just ask them to cut you a pound of cheese and then cut the cheese into cubes before putting them in the pot.

Heavy cream is recommended. It really adds a nice creaminess to the dip. You can substitute half and half or whole milk. If using half and half or whole milk start with only 1/2 cup instead of 1 cup and add more 1/4 cup at a time until desired consistency.
