#5 – CHUNKY YARN WRAPPED HEART WITH LOVE RIBBON

11 CUTE AND EASY FARMHOUSE-STYLE VALENTINE'S DAY DIY'S

Do you have some of these hearts from Dollar Tree? I have a bin of them!

Last year I used a lot of them and I found them just sitting in a storage bin. With some hot glue, some yarn and cute ribbon I was able to give them a new look that I’m loving!

SUPPLIES

  • Foam heart from Dollar Tree
  • Hot glue
  • Scissors
  • Yarn Bee Eternal Bliss yarn in ivory
  • Cute ribbon from Hobby Lobby
  • I also added a black button

Hot glue and twirl around half the heart. Use hot glue where needed. To avoid bulk i when up half and then went up the other half. I also cut pieces and hot glued it to the heart at the bottom so I wouldn’t have a lot of bulk at the bottom. Fill in any spaces with a piece of yarn. I then added this cute LOVE ribbon and a little button. This is cute to hang or to tuck anywhere in your home.

#6 – LOVE LETTER ENVELOPE

SUPPLIES

  • A square sign from Dollar Tree – I had one from fall but I often see them there for different occasions.
  • Wood heart from Dollar Tree
  • Paint – I use FolkArt paint in the color Barn Wood and Waverly white chalk paint. For the heart I used a combo of those two and along with antique white.
  • Hot glue
  • Twine
  • Paint brushes
  • Scissors
  • Letter stamps – mine are from Amazon – click HERE for stamps
  • Ribbon for bow
  • Black sharpie, or sharpie paint pen for lines

#7 – BURLAP HEART WREATH

SUPPLIES

  • Wire heart wreath form from Dollar Tree
  • 1 package of 5.5 inch wide burlap from Hobby Lobby
  • Hot glue
  • Scissors
  • Black velvet ribbon from Joann Fabrics

I folded the burlap in half. I did this to give it a thicker look and also to hide the wreath form. I started at the bottom and went all the way around.

I hot glued a cute bow on top and added twine to the back to hang.

Love this neutral Valentine’s Day heart wreath!

#8 – XOXO SCROLL

For this I used a roll of kraft paper from Dollar Tree and cut vinyl letters from my Cricut. You could handwrite this too!

I cut my kraft paper 11-inches wide and the font I used for the letters is Trajan Pro. I also add hot glue to the top and bottom to keep the rolls in place. Add a little ribbon or twine on top to hang. Easy peasy!

#9 – No-Sew Heart Pillow

11 CUTE AND EASY FARMHOUSE-STYLE DIY'S

SUPPLIES

  • 2 fat quarters (or 2 pieces of fabric cut 18×21)
  • Scissors or Rotary cutter
  • Pen, frixon pen or air/water soluble pen for marking the fabric
  • Pins
  • Hot glue
  • Stuffing
  • Ribbon for bow

For this project I used 2 pieces of fabric from Hobby Lobby cut 18×21 inches (you could use 2 fat quarters too.)

I wanted the lines of the fabric vertical. I put both pieces of fabric together, folded it in half and drew half a heart with an air soluble pen.

I then cut the heart with a rotary cutter. Scissors would work too. Then open it up and you’ll have 2 hearts.

Next flip one of the hearts over so the front is facing down, place another heart with the front facing up on top. I like to add some pins to prevent the fabric shifting.

Next add a ribbon of hot glue around the edges in sections, carefully pressing down so the pieces adhere to each other. Leave an opening on the bottom to add stuffing.

Remove pins, add stuffing and then add hot glue close. I then made a cute little bow with Hobby Lobby ribbon and hot glued that to the pillow.

Check out my no-sew bunny pillow and no-sew shamrock pillow too!

  • Hearts from Dollar Tree
  • Ivory Yarn Bee chunky yarn from Hobby Lobby
  • XOXO ribbon from Hobby Lobby

Remove hearts with scissors and take off the red tinsel. It’s easy to do. Snap off the little tabs with scissors. No biggie if you don’t. Add twine to the holes so you can attach back together.

Wrap the hearts with the chunky yarn and adhere with hot glue. Attach the hearts back together using the twine, add ribbon and enjoy!
