Step 1

Cut out a piece of red and white scrapbook paper to wrap around the bottom of the gift box tube. I like to line the the edge of the scrapbook paper with the bottom of the tube and then I make a marking with a pencil at the other end. I use a ruler to keep my line straight and cut the scrapbook paper with a rotary cutter.

Step 2

Next I apply a coat of Mod Podge on the tube and then wrap the cut piece of scrapbook paper around the tube. Then smooth it out. I set it aside to dry then apply a coat of Mod Podge on top.

Step 3

I cut a circle out to fit the center of the top of the tube. I then apply a coat of Mod Podge to the center and add my cut circle.

Step 4

Next I cut a piece for the rim and add an additional 1/2 inch over so I can fold that excess paper over the rim. I apply a coat of Mod Podge then wrap the paper around, folding the excess in towards the center to cover the top.

Step 5

Next apply a coat of Mod Podge to the top and bottom and set aside to dry.

Step 6

Repeat sets for remaining tubes.

Step 7

Next I distressed the firecrackers with the FolkArt wax in Antique Wax.

Step 8

Then I created a tag to attach to the firecrackers. This is totally optional. I wrote BOOM on my tag and distressed it with FolkArt wax in Antique Wax.

Step 9

I cut 3 7-inches pieces of nautical rope and hot glued it to the center of each firecracker.

Step 10

Next, I unraveled a piece of nautical rope and wrapped it around the firecrackers and tied a chunky knot, then added the tag.
