An easy recipe for Basil Pesto, delicious in so many recipes or just toss with hot pasta!

Basil Pesto

This is my favorite recipe for Basil Pesto that I have used for years! It is great as a marinade, tossed with pasta or as a bread for dipping. I also have this on hands to spread on sandwiches and wraps too. Basil Pesto is a staple in my refrigerator and can be used in so many recipes. You can even freeze it too so you always have delicious Basil Pesto on hand.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh basil leaves
  • 12 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts or walnuts
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Add basil, garlic, Parmesan, nuts in a food processor. With the machine running, slowly stream in olive oil. Continue to blend until blended. Season with salt and pepper.

Notes

If tossing with hot pasta thin pesto with a few tablespoons of pasta water.
