  • 1 1/2 pounds Brussels sprouts trimmed and cut in half lengthwise
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • 1/4 cup coconut aminos
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • Juice of 1 orange
  • 2-3 garlic cloves minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly minced ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes or to taste
  • 1/8 teaspoon sesame seeds optional

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
  3. In a large bowl toss Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt and pepper.
  4. Place in a single layer on baking sheet.
  5. Roast on the center rack for 20-30 minutes, flipping halfway until roasted.
  6. While Brussels sprouts are roasting in a small saucepan add coconut aminos, maple syrup, orange juice, garlic, ginger and red pepper flakes and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until liquid reduces by half and thickens, about 8-10 minutes.
  7. Remove Brussels sprouts from oven and place in a bowl. Add sauce and toss to coat.
  8. Add another pinch of red pepper flakes if desired for a little more heat.
  9. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired and serve warm.
