Weekly Wrap: Week One

So I thought I would do a new little thing called the Weekly Wrap.  I usually just talk about food and recipes and add in a little about life and kids here and there.  I thought it would be fun to do a little wrap up each week of things going on, favorite things I found online, things coming up on MT, all sorts of things,  you get the drift.  This is anything goes territory so brace yourself!

I heart Pumpkin Spice Lattes
Good thing Starbucks is out of the way for me or I would be in trouble.  Why oh why are they so addicting?  I am actually working on creating a similar one at home.  It’s a work in progress.  Trust me, you’ll be the first ot know if I have perfected this recipe!  In the meantime, watch as I just sip away.

Decorating
I love fall decorating.  It just makes the home so warm and inviting.  Since the kids are still at that stage of wanting to play with anything they could get their hands on I’m limited on the spaces I decorate.  I never seem to decorate it the same way each year.  This year, I’m pretty happy with how it has turned out.  I have been having fun getting a lot of inspiration from Pinterest on my Fall Decorating board.

I also love these printables that I found last year for fall.  I’m using them again this year for decorating.

Time to whine
I’m usually a Moscato d’Asti drinker but after hanging with Cathy from Noble Pig last week on the Grimmway Farm tour I’m back on a Pinot Noir kick.  I’m always on the hunt for a good bottle of wine in the $10-$20 dollar range.  I tried Mark West this past week and it was pretty good, especially for the price.

Candles
I’m a sucker for fall scents.  Yankee Candle Autumn Wreath is probably my favorites. I have it burning all the time in the house.  Lately I have been trying to find something new aside from Yankee Candle and Bath and Body Works that has a great scent for fall.  If you know of any I’d love to know.

What I’m craving from around the web
These Soft Glazed Pumpkin Sugar Cookies from Lauren’s Latest are on my list to bake this weekend! They look simply amazing!

I can’t wait to cozy up on a chilly fall day with a bowl of this Roasted Cauliflower White Cheddar Soup from Cooking Classy.  Love it!

I am intrigued with this Slow Cooker Guacamole Soup from A Spicy Perspective.  Since I could practically live on guacamole I am eager to try this.

Local happenings
This weekend we are heading to the Quaker Arts Festival.  It’s a great arts and crafts festival that I have been attending since I was a little girl.

I am knee deep in organizing the kids fall clothes from last year to consign at Mothertime Marketplace that is going on next week in Western New York.  Finishing this will probably take the rest of the weekend.

We are going to see Michael Buble this Tuesday.  We have seen him 3 or 4 times in concert.  He puts on a great show and is so darn cute.

Buffalo Chicken Ranch Pizza - Mother Thyme

On the menu
I made this Buffalo Chicken Ranch Pizza for dinner Friday night.  I haven’t made it in awhile, and now I remember how good it is.

I am slowly trying to re-shoot some older photos on MT that are in serious need of an update.  The next one on my list is the Mandarin Orange Chicken.  It’s on the menu this week for dinner so I figured I’d give the photo a makeover as well.

Cheddar Bacon Ranch Pinwheels - Mother Thyme

What’s HOT on MT

Coming up on MT

  1. Love the little peek into your life! I’m a little jealous of you seeing Buble. Will and I went to see him in Paris when we were there a few years ago. He came out on the stage only to announce that his drummer had been rushed to hospital and he couldn’t perform. Luckily he announced his Australia tour a few weeks later so we got to see him at home but not quite as romantic as Paris.

  2. Love this idea! I went to the Quaker Arts Festival on Sunday (my first time) and was blown away by all the talent we have here in WNY. I picked up to decor items for Christmas and some fun kitchen towels. Looking forward to your No Bake Pumpkin Cheesecake recipe!
