extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup
chopped onion
4
cloves garlic (minced)
1
can (28 ounces Tuttorosso Peeled Plum Tomatoes)
1/4 teaspoon
sugar
1 tablespoon
finely chopped fresh basil
Salt and pepper

Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add onions season with a pinch of salt and cook stirring occasionally until onions are tender, about 5 minutes.
Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about a minute.
Add onion and garlic mixture to a blender with tomatoes and its juice and sugar.
Blend sauce until smooth.
Return sauce to skillet and season with salt and pepper.
Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 20-30 minutes stirring occasionally until sauce has thickened a little.
Stir in basil and cook for a few minutes longer.
Remove from heat and serve.
