Hot Spiced Apple Cider

Ingredients

  • 1/2 gallon apple cider
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1 apple (sliced)
  • 1 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 23 clementines (sliced, or 1 large orange)
  • 4 cinnamon sticks (plus additional for garnish)
  • 1 handful whole fresh cranberries (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pour apple cider into slow cooker
  2. Stir in allspice.
  3. Stick cloves in apple slices and place in slow cooker along with remaining ingredients.
  4. Cover and cook on high for 1½ hours. Reduce to warm or medium to simmer for 1 hour more. The longer it simmers the better.
  5. Keep warm for serving.
  6. Garnish with whole cranberries before serving if desired. This is totally optional but makes it looks festive and pretty!

Notes

To make for a crowd simply double the recipe to 1 gallon apple cider, 3-4 clementines, 1 large or 2 apples, 2 teaspoons whole cloves, 1 teaspoon ground allspice and 6-7 cinnamon sticks.
