Big Batch Homemade Taco Seasoning
Whip up a big batch of this easy homemade taco seasoning to have on hand for taco night! Great for ground beef, ground turkey, shredded chicken, or to even to make a tasty dip!
Taco night is a favorite in our house! My kiddos have been obsessed with tacos every since they heard Taco Tuesday from the first Lego Movie.
Who doesn’t love tacos? There are so many varieties, but our favorite is simple and classic beef tacos loaded with shredded cheese and salsa. A classic taste that never gets old!
With pantry spices I already have on hand I created my own taco seasoning which I must say is pretty tasty!
One thing I’ve noticed is there are A LOT of recipes floating around for taco seasoning but I don’t want to make a single batch, I want to make one big batch to have on hand for awhile. If I’m going through the trouble of making a seasoning blend, especially one I use often I want it to last awhile.
Last year I featured this Big Batch Homemade Taco Seasoning during a Facebook live and you all went crazy for it! I had it posted on Mother Thyme for you all to print but the way the wacky world of blogging works it was difficult for people to find it unless you had the direct link. I’m old school and don’t get half of how it works but so often people would ask for the recipe and even though it was somewhere here on Mother Thyme it was hard to find.
Years ago I came up with my own homemade taco seasoning mix because I hated buying those little packets at the store. Sure they are convenient but A. even fifty cents for a couple tablespoons of seasoning seems expensive and B. it’s loaded with preservatives.
ANYWAYS, last fall I posted my recipe for Big Batch Homemade Chili Seasoning, which is great for obviously chili, and so much more. I FINALLY was replenishing my batch of homemade taco seasoning and figured now is the time to share it on it’s own page.
Obviously after almost 8 years of food blogging I still don’t get it, and I’m not here to win any awards. I’m just here because you guys are the best and I love sharing these recipes with you when I can!
So if you love tacos as much as we do, and you want to whip up a big batch of homemade taco seasoning to have on hand, you need to make this! Everyone that has tried this since my Facebook live has raved about it!
Not only is it great for tacos, but I love to mix a little in with some mayo for burgers, or with cream cheese and mayo as a dip. So many handy uses for this very practical seasoning blend!
