CHEESY PEPPERONI PIZZA PINWHEELS

CHEESY PEPPERONI PIZZA PINWHEELS

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes
  • 1 tube crescent rolls (regular or jumbo) (or crescent roll dough sheet)
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara (plus additional for dipping)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 18 slices pepperoni

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven 350 degrees.
  2. In a small bowl mix together butter, garlic powder and parsley flakes. Set aside.
  3. Roll out crescent roll on wax paper.  If not using a crescent dough sheet, press seams together to create a rectangle.
  4. Spread a layer of pizza sauce or marinara on top leaving about 1/2 inch border. Top with shredded cheese and pepperoni.
  5. Carefully roll up lengthwise, pinching in seams if necessary as rolling up. Brush with some of the butter.
  6. Using a sharp knife, cut into 8-12 slices. Place cut side down on a non-stick baking sheet. If making only 8, you can place in a 9-inch pie dish sprayed with cooking spray. Brush tops with remaining butter.
  7. Bake on the center rack for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
  8. Serve with warm pizza sauce or marinara if desired for dipping.
