Big Mac Salad
Everything you love about a Big Mac whipped up in a tasty salad!
Ingredients
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt or to taste
- Pinch of black pepper or to taste
- 1 head of iceberg lettuce, washed and chopped or shredded (or romaine)
- 1 1/2 cup hamburger pickles, roughly chopped (or how much you like)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Thousand island dressing or homemade Big Mac dressing (recipe below)
- White sesame seeds for garnish, optional
Instructions
- Add onions to a large non-stick skillet and cook over medium heat for 3-4 minutes.
- Add ground beef, season with garlic powder, salt and pepper and cook, breaking up chunks until cooked.
- Set aside to cool slightly.
- To assemble salad, add desired amount of lettuce to bowl. Add chopped pickles and ground beef. Sprinkle with cheddar cheese and white sesame seeds. Drizzle thousand island dressing on top and toss salad.
Notes
Homemade Big Mac Dressing
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sweet pickle relish
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 2 teaspoons yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon white distilled vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Add all ingredients to a medium mason jar or bowl and mix until combined. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
