Hello and welcome.  I’m Jennifer, the creator of Mother Thyme, thanks so much for stopping by.

In the kitchen I have found enjoyment creating meals that combine fresh ingredients with items that are already in the pantry.  My concept is to share simple, easy and delicious family friendly recipes that are affordable.

I am a 38 year old (or I should say young) stay at home mom to beautiful twins that are my life.  I love spending my free time in the kitchen cooking, or working on decorating and crafting projects.  When the twins are napping or tucked in bed for the evening I am exploring and creating new recipes or recreating old ones.  I have always had a love for design and cooking and find enjoyment doing it affordably.  
 
I was born and raised in the suburbs of Buffalo, New York.  After years of living in other parts of New York, Florida and Virginia, we are back in the Buffalo area. We truly love this area and that is why we returned.  It is a great place to raise a family and where else can you get the best Buffalo Wings and Beef on Weck? 

Prior to having the twins I spent 16 years in the travel industry.   I was fortunate that I was able to travel to some beautiful places such as Vietnam, Paris, London, Dublin, and a handful of the Caribbean islands.   I met some interesting people along the way and had some great food.  I still remember the little cafe I was sitting at near the Eiffel Tower having the best coffee I think I ever had or the Pho I had while sitting on little stool at a sidewalk vendor in Vietnam.   Great memories, and great food.  

I was fortunate to work in the travel industry until a week before I had the twins.  I had a great pregnancy (even though it was long road to get pregnant) and I carried them for 36 weeks.  On July 22, 2010 our beautiful twins Tyler and Eden were born.  We are truly blessed.  


Now I am looking to put some of my attention in to something I am passionate about, something that is mine.  After thinking long and hard on what I wanted to do I developed this idea. I was inspired after reading other websites.  I want to add my little footprint in the world of blogging.  I want to look back someday and show my kids what mommy did.  I want them to know with determination anything is possible.  I am so grateful to my readers and everyone that follows my little piece of the blogosphere.  I have  accomplished things I never thought was possible since MT originated.  I have been featured on many sites I admire and in December 2012 I released my first cookbook Holiday Thyme.  My next cookbook Summer Thyme will be released in May 2013.   When you put your mind to something, anything is possible.  My motto is, to stay positive and stay true to yourself.

All the recipes and decorating ideas I share I have created on my own unless otherwise noted.  There are so many wonderful recipes and decorating projects out there that I do like to try them.  I love to give credit where credit is due so I will always share if I am using a recipe or idea I share from someone or have adapted it from somewhere.  

What will you find on Mother Thyme?  Since conception it has been solely recipes, but I have moved forward with bringing more of my ideas to this site as well. Occasionally you will find some of my entertaining, organizing, decorating, crafting ideas, family time, DIY and How Tos along with my easy to follow recipes.
