Snowball Cookies


  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup white granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chopped walnuts
  • 2 cups confectioners’ sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and white sugar using an electric mixer.
  3. Stir in flour and walnuts until combined.
  4. Roll tablespoon size balls and place on baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 45 minutes.
  6. Cool for about 10 minutes on baking sheet.
  7. Generously toss in confectioners’ sugar and place on wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, toss again in confectioners’ sugar if desired.
  9. Store in an airtight container.
