Apple Dumplings

Skip the apple pie and try these warm Apple Dumplings that are super simple to make and are good!

Ingredients

  • 1 box (15 ounce refrigerated pie crust)
  • 4 SnapDragon apples (peeled and cored)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter (cut into 4 cubes)
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Allow pie crust to sit at room temperature for about 15-20 minutes.
  2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  3. Lightly grease a 11×7 baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
  4. In a small bowl mix sugar and cinnamon.
  5. Unroll pie crusts in half.
  6. Place each apple on top of dough. Place a piece of butter in the core of each apple. Divide cinnamon sugar mixture and generously sprinkle the inside of each apple with cinnamon sugar mixture and a dusting on the outside.
  7. Fold dough around apples pinching the seams to seal the dough close.
  8. Place in prepared baking dish.
  9. Bring brown sugar and water to a low boil in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring frequently for about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and pour over apples in baking dish.
  10. Bake for about 50 minutes basting occasionally until golden brown.
