Slow Cooker Triple Chocolate Lava Cake


This Slow Cooker Triple Chocolate Lava Cake is a chocolate lover’s dream! Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a decadent dessert! 


  • 1 box instant chocolate pudding mix (3.9 oz box)
  • 2 C whole milk
  • 1 box devil’s food cake mix (15.25 oz box)
  • 1 1/4 C whole milk
  • 1/2 C vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 12 oz milk chocolate chips
  • vanilla ice cream for serving


  1. Spray slow cooker with non stick cooking spray or line with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl mix together pudding mix and 2 cups milk. Set aside to thicken slightly.
  3. While pudding is setting in another large bowl mix together cake mix, milk, vegetable oil and eggs. 
  4. Pour cake batter in the bottom of slow cooker.
  5. Add dollops of pudding on top of cake mix. Do not stir!
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Do not stir!
  7. Cover and cook on low for 2 1/2-3 hours until cake is set and pudding starts bubbling.
  8. Turn heat off and allow too cool slightly before serving.
  9. Serve warm (or cold) with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
