Cinnamon Roll Poke Cake

CINNAMON ROLL POKE CAKE

Ingredients

Cake

  • 1 box white cake mix – plus ingredients for cake listed on box

Filling

  • 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoon melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Frosting

  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 block (8 oz.) cream cheese
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Prepare and bake cake according to package directions in a greased 9×13 pan. Set aside to cool completely.
  • In a medium bowl mix together sweetened condensed milk, brown sugar, butter and cinnamon until blended and set aside.
  • Poke holes all over cake with the bottom of a wooden spoon.
  • Pour filling over cake pushing filling into holes with a spatula.
  • In a large mixing bowl beat heavy cream with a mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form.
  • In a separate bowl beat together cream cheese and butter until blended.
  • Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth and creamy.
  • Fold in whipped cream until combined.
  • Top cake with frosting.
  • Refrigerate until ready to serve.
