Brownie Mix in a Jar
An easy recipe for chewy and delicious brownie mix in a jar! Perfect to store in your pantry or to make for gift giving!
Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Add sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt to a pint size mason jar and mix together until combined.
- Top with 1/2 cup of chocolate chunks.
- Seal with lid.
- Alternatively you can mix sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt in a bowl then add mixture to jar and top with chocolate chunks.
- For layered jar – add sugar, flour, baking powder and salt to a jar and mix. Gently tamp the layer down. Next add cocoa on top and use a tamper to tamp cocoa down. Top with chocolate chunks.
- Add lid and tag with baking instructions.
Notes
- To bake you will need –
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted and cooled
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- To make –
- Preheat oven to 350
- Spray an 8 inch baking pan with non-stick spray.
- Add brownie mixture to a bowl then stir in melted butter, eggs and vanilla. Stir until just combined.
- Pour batter into prepared baking pan and bake for about 20 minutes.
