I have teamed up with other food bloggers to kick off the Flavors of Summer Virtual Picnic.   We look forward to sharing with you delicious summer picnic recipes, perfect for all your summertime entertaining.

  1. My favorite picnic recipe is a very simple dip that always goes quick. Place a package of cream cheese in the dish you will serve the dip in the microwave until it softens enough to spread it over the bottom.(but not completely melt). Next, I spread a can of Hormel Turkey Chili (I prefer the no beans) over the cream cheese. Then sprinkle a bag of shredded cheese (your choice, I use the Mexican Blend) over the top and place it in the microwave just long enough to melt the cheese. Then top with diced tomatoes, green onion, or anything else and serve hot with tortilla chips. Super cheap, easy & yummy 🙂

  2. A summer fresh fruit salad with peaches, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, kiwi, banana and grapes is always so refreshing and healthy too!

  3. My newest favorite is shrimp boil kabobs. They are made with baby new potatoes, corn on the cob, shrimp, and smoked keilbasa. You alternate ingredients on a skewer and grill them, they are basted with a butter, Old Bay seasoning, and Tabasco mix. So delicious. Thanks for the great giveaway opportunity.

  4. I love to make salads full of quinoa, black beans, veggies, herbs, sometimes chicken, and some type of mayo/sour cream/mustard dressing!

  5. We never really have picnics but the twice I’ve ever hosted one, I made the traditional picnic fare: egg salad sandwiches, sticky wings, fruit soda and muffins. So good!

  6. My favorite picnic recipe is just putting together a simple greek pasta salad with fresh green peppers, fresh chopped zucchini, roasted red peppers, chopped red onion, marinated artichoke hearts, sliced black olives, crumbled feta cheese and fresh herbs.

  7. Oh, what a fun prize package! I work outside and crave salad-y, fruity, coool things in the heat.

  8. To me, no summer picnic is complete without watermelon, and a neat way to eat it is pre-seeded, in a fruit salad (rather than big yummy sloppy slices, when you can spit the seeds without offending anyone–LOL).
