Snack Day With Cheerios
The twins love Cheerios! Â What 1 year old doesn’t, right? Â Everyday when I come walking in the room with their snack cups full of Cheerios they immediately grab for them and gobble them up while watching the latest episode of Yo Gabba Gabba.
I always find myself snacking on a few Cheerios myself while filling their bowls which got me thinking of making a Cheerios Trail Mix. This has turned out to be a delicious go to snack. Â Keep in a seal tight jar and grab a few while filling up the snack cups for the kids. Â I make the Cheerios Trail Mix with Agave Nectar which makes this delicious!
This is also a great snack to have while on the run. Â I find myself at times flying out the door and hungry on the road. Â This is a great snack to have on hand to put a full handfuls in a baggy to have to munch on while driving down the road.
But this gets better. Â I didn’t just make a snack for the adults I made another snack for the kiddos (or the parents too). Â We love s’mores and we have been making them often while sitting around the fire on the weekends which got me thinking of creating a Cheerios s’mores. Â This is great for the older kids; which I make for the kids in my family. Â The twins aren’t eating these, but I’m sure they would love too!

Ingredients
2 cups Cheerios
1/4 cup Agave Nectar
1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
1/3 cup Dried Cranberries
1/4 cup Chopped or Whole Walnuts or Almonds (optional)
1/3 cup White Chocolate Chips
Directions
Preheat oven at 350 degrees. Â Mix Cheerios with agave nectar and cinnamon in a large bowl. Â Add in cranberries and walnuts. Â Spread out on a nonstick baking sheet and bake for 7 minutes. Â Remove from oven and let completely cool. Â Once cool toss with white chocolate chips. Â Â
Note~ Â I sometimes add the white chocolate chips while the mix is still a bit warm so the chips melt a little and stick to the cheerios making little clusters. Â If desired, let mix cool completely before adding chips to avoid the chips melting. Â

Happy Snacking!
wow! they look really good! and creative too!
I definitely fall under the category of “older kid” and both of these snacks look absolutely wonderful. I think either one would satisfy my serious sweet tooth. Thanks for sharing your recipes!
I’m all for the S’mores Cheerios too! I was giving these to kids in my family and I kept picking at them before I even gave them to them. They are yummy and you don’t need to start a campfire to get your s’mores fix! 🙂
