What you need
- A box of white cake mix – you can use yellow too.
- Quick rolled oats – just 1/2 cup
- Butter – 2 sticks total. Some for the bars, the a little for the yummy crumb topping!
- Almond extract – optional but so worth it, trust me!
- A can of strawberry pie filling – it’s all about easy peasy my friends!
- A little flour
- A little brown sugar
- A pinch of cinnamon
That’s it! Pretty simple ingredients right?
The hardest part about this recipe is waiting for them to cool! They smell amazing and it’s so tempting to want to dive in and eat them. Trust me, it’s worth the wait! The almond extract is my little secret ingredient in this recipe. I like to use almond extract in my baking. Just a little goes a long way and takes a baked treat to another level. It’s not overpowering, it’s just a hint. It gives it that came from a bakery taste if you ask me.
