Easy and Healthy Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins
Wait until you try these easy and healthy chocolate chip banana muffins! They are so good! I love them for breakfast with a bowl of fruit, an afternoon sweet treat, or served warm as an evening dessert. I make these a few times a few week and once you try them you’ll see why I make them on repeat!
This recipe makes a dozen delicious muffins. They don’t last very long in my home. My kids love them too! You can even freeze these and just thaw at room temperature!
These all come together in one bowl using simple ingredients and sweetened with pure maple syrup.
I can’t wait for you to try these!
Blended Rolled Oats
For these I use old-fashioned rolled oats that I pulse in my mini food processor to make an oat flour. I like to do this myself opposed to using oat flour so I can control the texture and consistency. A blender will also work. Just pulse them until you get a flour like texture and consistency.

Ingredients
Here is what you’ll need to make these yummy muffins.
- 2 cups Old-fashioned rolled oats – pulsed in blender or food processor to make a oat flour, or you can pulse less if you want more texture.
- 2 large eggs
- 3 medium bananas – mashed. It’s a great way to use up bananas!
- 3/4 cup whole milk plain Greek yogurt (you can use non-fat Greek yogurt but I like it better using whole milk Greek yogurt)
- Pure vanilla extract
- 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder – I use Garden of Life Raw Organic Protein powder. This gives these an extra boost of protein.
- Baking powder
- Baking soda
- Salt – I love Redmonds!
- Ground cinnamon
- Dark chocolate chips – I love the depth and richness of the dark chocolate chips. I love using Lily’s Dark Chocolate Style baking chips that have no added sugar and made with stevia. I love these! They are perfect for snaking on too when you need a little sweet treat or taste of chocolate.
- You could also add in some chopped walnuts or pecans or a blend or chocolate chips and chopped walnuts.
Grab a large bowl and mix all the wet ingredients together then stir in the oats, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon then fold in the chocolate chips.
Next divide the batter evenly in a 12-cup muffin pan. I like to lightly spray my liners with a non-stick baking spray so they don’t stick to the liners. Top with some more chocolate chips on top and then bake in a 350 degree oven for about 18 minutes.
I hope you enjoy these yummy muffins as much as we do!
