DIY Floral Pocket Using a Bubble Mailer

Before you toss away those bubble mailers you get wait until you see the cute, easy and affordable craft you can make with them!
If you don’t have any bubble mailers or don’t want to wait for some happy mail sent to you in a bubble mailer then you can buy them. For this project I used an 8 1/2 x 11 bubble mailer from Dollar Tree.
Why is it not yellow? Well that’s because I spray painted it.
NOTE – I do recommend using the paper bubble mailers or even a mailer your get an Amazon package in opposed to a shiny bubble mailer. These are the ones I like to use. I used the 8 1/2 x 11 bubble mailer but you could use a bigger or smaller one depending on the size of floral pocket or project.

Spray Paint Bubble Mailer
I spray painted it with Rustoleum spray paint in the color Heirloom White but you could use whatever color. I also like Rustoleum spray paint Espresso or black for these too if you like the rustic/primitive look but you can paint them whatever color matches your style of decor.
Once I spray paint the front and back and it’s dry I cut off the flap so I have a pocket.
Free Printables
For this project I used my free Vintage Seed Packet labels that you can get sent to your inbox below.
Note: These printables are for personal use only.
The printables comes in 5×7, 8×10, 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 and 3 1/2 x 4 1/2. For this I used the 5×7 print.

I tear the print simply by folding around the images and tearing it. Then I go around the label to distress it more. I like to use Behr Antique Wax which you can get HERE.
After I distress the label with the wax I then attach the label to the mailer with Mod Podge then adding some more of my antique wax onto the mailer to distress it as well then seal it all with Mod Podge on top.

Next I take a strip of torn homespun and hot glue it into the inside of the bag to create a strap.
I fill the pocket with some stuffing. I always have old pillows on hand that I use the stuffing from.

I then added some dried sweet Annie and sisal to the pocket and completed this look with a bow that I made with homespun and hot glued to the front of the pocket.

And that how I created this floral pocket using a bubble mailer. The possibilities are endless and how fun to do seasonally too!
