No-Sew Popsicle – Free Pattern

Have you seen all the popsicle crafts popping up? I had to get on the popsicle bandwagon and join in on the fun so I couldn’t resist making these cute no-sew popsicles! They make great bowl filler, use on a tray, or even add a little hanger on the back to hang or make into garland.

Of course I had to make mine with homespun to give them a prim look but you can use whatever fabric matches your style of decor. The best part is it’s no-sew but of course you can easily sew these together, whatever is your preferred method.

For this project I am going to share how to make them no-sew but first let’s gather our supplies.

Supplies

  • Pattern – you can make your own or use the free pattern below. Simply add your name and email in the box and I’ll send you the pattern right to your inbox!
  • Fabric – This is a great scrap fabric project so if you have some left on hand you can use that or whatever matches your project and style of decor. I like prim/rustic so I went with homespun fabric.
  • Stuffing – You can purchase it at the craft store or use the stuffing from an old pillow.
  • Fragrance oil (optional) – Add a few drops of fragrance oil to a cotton bowl and add with stuffing if you’d like.
  • Scisscors
  • Pins or marking pen
  • Hot glue gun and hot glue
  • Wide popsicle sticks – the ones I used are from Hobby Lobby. I stained mine with FolkArt Antique Wax.
  • Torn muslin for stamping (optional)
  • Stamps (optional) – click HERE and HERE for the stamps I use.
  • Add accents you’d like to add to your project

Steps

  • Cut out pattern.
  • Place 2 pieces of fabric wrong sides together and place pattern on top.
  • Pin pattern to fabric then cut both pieces of fabric out. Alternatively you can trace the pattern out with a marking pen it cut it out.
  • Once you have fabric cut out, I like to keep it pinned together just flip it over so then I can hot glue the pieces together leaving an opening on the bottom of the popsicle to add stuffing and popsicle stick. Alternatively place the 2 pieces of fabric together, add a few pins to keep in place and hot glue keeping an opening on the bottom of the popsicle to add stuffing and popsicle stick. I left a little bit of a seam around mine but you can go closer to the edge if you don’t want much of a seam around the edges. If you leave seam around the edge you can leave it with the unfinished edge like mine or use pinking shears that helps prevent fraying and gives a decorative edge.
  • Add stuffing and optional cotton bowl with some fragrance oil. I filled mine rather full so they were nice and stuffed. Then add the popsicle stick and hot glue closed.
  • Add accents like rusty pins, bells, buttons, twine, bow or whatever matches your style. For mine I used some thin pieces of torn homespun and made a bow and hot glued it to the popsicle stick along with a stamped tag.

Use these as bowl filler, tuck on a tray, add twine to hang or you can watch the video above to see how I made the rusty wire basket.

These are so cute and make a fun and easy craft – perfect for a craft night too! Let me know in the comments if you make these too I would love to know!
