DIY Flower Door Hanger
Looking for an affordable way to dress up your door? Check out this adorable DIY flower door hanger. It’s made with foam board and fabric!

How cute is this flower door hanger? I love the way it turned out! I love it so much I am thinking of putting it on my front door. I originally made it for our garage door, but I love the way it looks on the front door.
I like to use it as a door hanger, but you could hang it on a wall or not even hang it at all! It looks super cute leaning up next to a table, or make a few, hot glue them to some wood dowels or paint sticks and stick in a planter.
This is made of foam, so it can’t be outside, so use on a covered porch, if you have a storm door, or anywhere inside.
THE SUPPLIES
- 1 piece of foam board – I got mine at Dollar Tree
- Pencil
- Box cutter
- Fabric – I used black ticking stripe fabric from Hobby Lobby
- Scissors
- Hot glue
- Mini wire wreath – I got mine at Dollar Tree
- Fabric to wrap wreath form – I used homespun fabric from Hobby Lobby
- Twine to hang
Step 1

Draw out a flower with a pencil on the foam board. You may want to practice a few times first on a scrap piece of paper.
Step 2

Carefully cut out the pattern with a box cutter. Depending on how sharp your box cutter is, you may need to turn over your foam board to cut the other side.
Step 3

Once you have it cut out, place your flower pattern on top of a piece of fabric. Trace out pattern on the fabric. I use a dissolving fabric pen.
Step 4

Cut the fabric out allowing a few extra inches around so you can fold the fabric around the flower pattern and attach to the backside.
Step 5

I cut slits around the point of the flower so I could easily fold the fabric over to each side.
Step 6

Now it’s time to attach the fabric. Simply attach the fabric to the back of the flower with hot glue. You can always trim the excess fabric at the end if you’d like. I like to gently pull the fabric as I am applying hot glue so the fabric isn’t loose once it’s all attached.
Once the fabric is all attached, flip it over and make sure it looks good. You can add more hot glue to any missing spots if needed.
Step 7

Set the flower aside and assemble the center. Grab the mini wire wreath form and a piece of fabric. Cut around the mini wire wreath form, allowing a few extra inches to wrap around the back.
Step 8

Apply hot glue to the back of the wreath form and attach the fabric, pulling gently so the fabric is tight.
Step 9

Add hot glue on the fabric around the back rim of the wreath form and then place on the center of the flower. Gently press to adhere.
Step 10

To add a hanger, simply hot glue some twine to the back of the flower. I also made a little twine bow as well.
You can get creative with this and add any embellishments you’d like.
