I used craft paper to print these but you can use whatever paper you’d like. I also distressed the tags with distress oxide in the color vintage photo but you could use paint or even coffee or tea stain them too!
Rustic Santa Hat
This rustic Santa hat turned out so cute! I love how it can sit anywhere! This is a $1 Santa hat from Dollar General that is coffee stained and then placed on top of a coffee container. I also added some greens, a bell and a cute little tag!
I think this is a cute idea to use with mini Santa hats too. Use a jar, can or something to put in the hat to stand it up and it would look so cute tucked in a Christmas vignette or shelf!
Rustic Peppermint Sticks
Grab a dowel at the hardware store or craft store to make these cute peppermint sticks. I used a 3/4 dowel from Ace Hardware but you can find these at Hobby Lobby too. I cut them into 8 inch sticks then wrapped them in coffee stained fleece. You could use muslin too. I then wrapped it in some torn homespun and then bundled 3 together for peppermint stick bundles.
I also made one all wrapped in homespun. I used twine to group them together and added a simple tag and bell. You could add some greenery too but I love the simplicity without it.
Rustic Stocking
Turn this $1 Dollar General stocking into a rustic Christmas stocking perfect to hang on a door, hook or tuck in a Christmas vignette. I coffee stained the stocking. Once dry I filled it with stuffing, added greens and then added some rusty bells and a tag.
I really love how this turned out! I hung it on my entry table and I love the pop of Christmas red. I especially love the before and after, just taking a simple Dollar General stocking and giving it a simple, affordable makeover to give it a rustic look.
Rustic Snowman
When I saw this $3 snowman at Dollar General I knew he would be a fun makeover. First I removed the scarf and fabric on the hat. Next I brushed some of my coffee stain on him to give him a primitive, rustic look. I brushed it on so I didn’t get it too saturated. Once dry I used a piece of torn homespun for a safe, added another button to him as well to the hat and of course a tag!
It was a cute makeover to make him look prim and rustic!
Rustic Christmas Pillows
I loved this 2 pack of tea towels at Dollar General for just $2! I coffee stained the towels and turned them into pillows by simply folding the towels in half and adding hot glue around the edges. I added stuffing then sealed it closed with additional hot glue. So easy for some cute and affordable seasonal pillows! I also added a little greenery, bell and of course tag!
