White Sauce is good not only on this oatmeal, but it’s great on waffles and pancakes too! It’s so easy to make with just milk, sugar, cornstarch and a pinch of nutmeg! Store in the refrigerator and drizzle over oatmeal for a tasty addition!
This Baked Oatmeal is so simple to make. You just need a few simple ingredients including old fashioned rolled oats, milk, melted butter, cinnamon, sugar and eggs. Mix it all together, pour into a baking dish and bake. Easy peasy!
Oh and wait! It gets even easier! You can prep this ahead of time too! Just cover and pop in the refrigerator overnight then bake in the morning!

Ingredients
Amish Baked Oatmeal
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
White Sauce
- 3 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
Instructions
Amish Baked Oatmeal
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Spray an 8×8 inch baking dish with cooking spray and set aside.
- In a large bowl mix together eggs, milk, brown sugar, melted butter, baking powder, vanilla, cinnamon and salt until combined then stir in rolled oats.
- Pour mixture into prepared baking dish and bake for 35-40 minutes.
White Sauce
- In a medium saucepan add milk, sugar, vanilla and cornstarch and whisk until cornstarch is dissolved.
- Cook over medium, stirring frequently and bring to a low boil then reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally until sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and cool.
- Once cool pour into a bowl or container with a lid and store in an airtight container.
