No-Sew Rustic Carrots

NO-SEW RUSTIC CARROTS

How cute are these carrots? I love how these turned out! It’s such an affordable craft too!

And wait until you see what I used to make them! They are so fun and easy to make!

The base of these cute no-sew rustic carrots is just cardboard. I just cut long triangles out of scrap cardboard. I love using THIS box cutter for easy cutting. It’s a must-have for cutting boxes and makes it so easy too. If you don’t have that, a craft or hobby knife will work just fine.

I didn’t really measure either. I just cut long, narrow pieces about 10-12 inches long. If you are inspired to make these you can make yours however long or short you’d like.

These are so cute for bowl filler, or to group in any spring or Easter vignette.

I added 5 carrots to a rustic box that I made from a cardboard box. You can watch the full tutorial that includes the carrots below.

If you don’t like the neutral distressed white carrots like mine you can use whatever fabric or scrap fabric you have on hand. I like the texture of the batting so you could even add a light coat of paint.

You can watch the full tutorial on how I make these in this video.

Start by cutting long, narrow pieces of cardboard to create your carrot base.

Next loosely wrap the pieces of cardboard with the batting attaching it to the back with hot glue. You don’t want to wrap it too tight. You want it a little loose so you can add some stuffing. Then trim off any excess batting.

Next add a little stuffing. I don’t overstuff and only add it to the front part of the carrot.

Once stuffed, I use a little piece of raffia on the bottom to close the bottom. I just thought it gave it a unique touch.

Next add greenery or dried sweet any to the top of the carrot attaching it with hot glue then add in a little Spanish moss. I also take a little rusty wire, twirl it around a pencil and add it in for another cute little touch. Seal the top of the carrot closed with hot glue folding over the top edge if needed. I also like to have the Spanish moss overhang on the top too.

Next lightly brush with antique wax to distress the batting to give it a rustic look then I take a torn piece or Kraft paper and stamp the word CARROT on it and hot glue it to the carrot along with a button.
